1. Agreement to terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the BetterSaaS website at bettersaas.io (the "Site") and all related services provided by BetterSaaS, Inc. ("BetterSaaS", "we", "our", or "us").
By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part, you may not access the Site.
2. Description of service
BetterSaaS provides an independent SaaS product ranking platform that scores software products across multiple dimensions. Our services include product scorecards, comparison tools, rankings, buyer guides, and data APIs.
Our rankings and scores represent our independent editorial judgment, based on our published methodology. They are not guarantees of product quality or suitability for any particular use case.
3. User accounts
To access certain features, you must register for an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
- Maintain the security of your password and account.
- Accept responsibility for all activities under your account.
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
4. Subscriptions and payments
Some features require a paid subscription (Free, Pro, Team, or Enterprise). By subscribing, you agree to pay all applicable fees. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date.
- Billing: Charged monthly or annually, depending on the plan selected.
- Refunds: We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on first-time purchases. After 14 days, no refunds are available for the current billing period.
- Price changes: We may change pricing with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers.
- Cancellation: You may cancel at any time. Access continues through the end of the current billing period.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
- Scrape, crawl, or automatically extract data from the Site without written permission.
- Submit fake, misleading, or incentivized reviews.
- Attempt to manipulate scores, rankings, or review content.
- Impersonate another person or entity.
- Interfere with the security or performance of the Site.
- Reverse-engineer our scoring algorithms beyond what is published in our methodology.
6. User content
When you submit reviews, ratings, or other content, you grant BetterSaaS a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute that content on the Site.
You represent that content you submit is accurate, not misleading, and does not violate any third-party rights. We reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms.
7. Intellectual property
All content on the Site — including text, graphics, logos, the BetterScore methodology, rankings data, and software — is the property of BetterSaaS or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.
You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without express written permission, except for reasonable personal or internal business use of ranking data accessed through your subscription tier.
8. API terms
Access to the BetterSaaS API is governed by your subscription tier. API usage is subject to rate limits and fair use. You may not resell API data or use it to build competing services without written permission.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
The Site and all content are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that scores, rankings, or reviews are error-free or that the Site will be uninterrupted.
BetterSaaS scores are our editorial assessment based on available data. They should not be the sole basis for purchasing decisions.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, BetterSaaS shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Site. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless BetterSaaS, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the Site, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any third-party rights.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California.
13. Changes to terms
We may revise these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated with at least 30 days' notice via email to registered users. Continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
